45 StarsIn Forgotton Secrets which I highly recommend you read first Thayne and Riley were in a casual relationship that had the potential to be so much if they took a chance Both were at a crossroads in their life Thayne deciding to leave the SEALs to help his family his father suffering from heart issues his grandmother Alzheimer's and Riley was burnt out from her job with the FBI due to her skills of being able to see inside the bad guy's mind yet unable to solve the disappearance of her older sister over a decade beforeThayne and Riley came through it at all as a unit and stronger than ever but they've reached another fork in the road and both must decide if this is where they must and reluctantly so take different paths or if they can find a way to walk the same one togetherThayne has taken over as sheriff from his dad of his hometown and though he doesn't regret the decision he made to return and help his family he can admit to himself that he misses being a SEAL and wonders what his former teammates are doing When Riley is given the chance to return to her job as an FBI agent he doesn't want to hold her back but also worries her doing so will result in him losing her foreverRiley needs the outlet her position provides the chance to help those in danger as no one else can due to her uncanny ability to see what others can't and to essentially let that go to waste in a town that doesn't reuire the skill seems wrong But she loves Thayne and wants to be with himWhen Riley receives a call from a stranger she has no idea how they got her number nor what they need from her As Thayne ad Riley begin working together to solve a tragic case that has crossed their lives professionally they begin to realize the answers they seek may be right in front of them unfortunately the person who has them is slowly losing not only herself but any memories she might haveCan Thayne and Riley find justice for the family who only wanted to be left alone to live free of danger? What about the member that was left behind to mourn what once was? As for Riley's sister Madison how is she coping with adjusting to life outside the walls that had kept her hostage for so long? Will she ever find happiness? Or does she believe what happened will prevent that? Will Thayne and Riley fight for the future they can have? Or will one of them have to compromise in order to get their HEA?One click now and follow along as two people whose lives are already merging personally find them doing the same professionally with a case that seems almost unsolvableunless they work together I can't wait to see what happens next for this couple and what may be in store for Madison Riley's older sister and Hudson Thayne's brotherI voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book

35 stars rounded up to 4I've finished this one some time ago but I wasn't in the right mood to write a review I loved the book but I felt a little detached from the story I think in my eager to read it as soon as possible I made a miskate by reading it in the summer It's a somber book settled in the mountainsit was probably a appropriate autumn read at least for me Anyway the story was ok the characters were good at least they were because I also read book 1 in the Singing River serie I can't say how I would have perceived them by reading that book onlyAs I said it's the second installment in a serie and I would read them in order You will lose most of the personal stories by reading the books in the wrong order and it was the part I loved I'll be reading book three if there is one and if it comes out before I completely forget the other two but I really hope book three will say something about Cheyenne and the relationship with her husbandsince I think it was my main motive for reading that book after the first one which was also good but my TBR pile i soooo hugeNow some summer read please

Book one in this series was one of the first if not the first kindle book I ever won from Goodreads giveaways That was three years ago When I saw book two was listed as a Goodreads giveaway of course I had to enter I was shocked I was lucky to win it Usually when I win a book from Goodreads I don't read it immediately This one I had to read it just a few days after winning it That says something about what I think of this series It was so nice to be back in Singing River Wyoming with the Blackwood family after three years Riley Lambert is the type of woman you want to read about She can take care of herself and isn't always needing rescued by men And Thayne being an ex Navy SEAL has the need to protect her but he also understands she can take care of herself and always trusts her to have his back in dangerous situations I just love their dynamic I love the whole Blackwood family the author makes you care about them all And do I see a future novel with Thayne's brother Hudson? I sure hope so

FBI Special Agent Riley Lambert's return to Singing River Wyoming was not uite what she'd hoped for She's had a lot on her mind since completing her assignment in Washington DC She wanted to speak with her boyfriend Thayne Blackwood the local sheriff but Thayne is otherwise occupied with a case The Jordans' home burned to the ground and the husband and wife are dead It takes Riley but a few moments to pronounce it a crime scene the Jordans were murdered Thayne knows Riley is the best and he needs her talents as a behaviour analyst to solve this case They still make a great team but will their romance stand the test of time?FORGOTTEN LEGACY is the second installment in the Singing River series and while it is a continuation of book one it stands entirely on its own There is a lot going on the arson investigation; Thayne's grandmother who is battling Alzheimer's; and Thayne's and Riley's romance which is not going smoothly Their relationship issues are very realistic and I couldn't see how they could make it work It's rare to see the conflict for a couple coming from their career choices and I really liked that Riley is truly obsessed with her work and this is one of those rare instances where I wouldn't have minded a little romance but it was great watching them at work I must admit I found it hard to rate this book because I found it uite depressing It seems nothing is going right for anyone apart from Madison Riley's sister There's Thayne's grandmother's Alzheimer's; another character has health issues actually than one For the best part of the book it seemed like Thayne and Riley would break up even though they do love each other I certainly was not expecting a barrel of laughs but it was really bleakMs Perini's writing is excellent as always but while all the characters are fully fleshed out it was disconcerting that most are barely described There is no physical description of Thayne or Riley none whatsoever They must have been described in the previous book but I didn't remember; it felt like watching a black and white movie on a TV with bad reception but with exceptional sound uality The story is uite complex with many layers but I'm still not sure what to make of the scenario with the killer Robin Perini is experiencing first hand the devastation of Alzheimer's as her mother suffers from the disease and this book shows how heartbreaking it is for everyone concerned Make sure to read the Afterword and the AcknowledgementsI voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book All thoughts and opinions are my own

Well written suspense story I didn't like how much informationresearch came from a retired teachercomputer hacker I'm getting tired of stories that have too much reliance in the ever present hacker I liked the premise of the suspense

Forgotten Legacy is Book 2 of the Singing River Legacy series by Robin Perini Even though I'm sure a reader could follow along just fine without having read Book 1 I do recommend at least picking it up as it shares a lot of insight into the back story playing out this time aroundThis is the only 2nd book I have read by this author and I must say I am impressed This story is an edge of your seat action packed thriller with a dash of romance Overall it was a great story and I look forward to reading of Thayne Riley and the Blackwood family

I really enjoyed the book and would give it 35 stars The details from Forgotten Secrets were a little foggy since it's been three years since I read it The book pretty much picks up where the last one left off Riley is so frustrating throughout the whole book I wanted to shake her and make her see what is in front of her instead of running away Riley finally has her sister back in her life and a loving fiance but still isn't happy I didn't love Riley as much as I did in the first book It's suppose to be a romance but I didn't always feel the love between Thayne and Riley There were twists and turns I loved the whole mystery behind the killer and couldn't wait to find out the connection heshe had to the Jordans When the reason behind the murders was finally revealed I just didn't buy it The motive felt like a let down I guess I expected something else Of course there will be a third book where Thayne and Riley will hunt down all the victims Poor Helen is always put in danger but she's one strong lady I enjoyed the story characters and writing style At times I felt like the story got bogged down by Riley's back and forth about staying in Singing River or going back to DC The problem was easily solved but took so long for her to come to that conclusion I wouldn't mind learning about Cheyenne and Brett's relationship in the next book The Afterword was very touching We have learned to cherish and embrace the small moments of joy even as we navigate through tears Beautiful words on how Perini's family dealt with her mom's Alzheimer's It must be devastating when your mom can no longer recognize youDefinitely recommend the book and the previous one I can't wait for the next book in the series I just hope Riley sticks with Thayne and doesn't keep doubting herself Christmas seems too far away for them to waitI received a complimentary copy of this book from Montlake Romance through NetGalley Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own
