Ack I forgot to write a review and now hmms1 There is a short story in Girls With Guns that I strongly encourage people to read before reading this book here A few new to the series characters make their first appearance in that short story and they have a somewhat significant impact on the story line in this book here2 I rather liked this specific book hence the 45 rating Though it is hard to discuss beyond the note in 1 and noting rating as this is a book late in a series in which each book before it matters to the one that comes after it or in other words I kept 'spoiling' myself just from looking at the book descriptions So what can I really put here?3 I like the characters that appeared in this book Solid characterizations4 Strong solid plot 5 There are as may or may not be expected since this is of a slice of life type book about a criminal than a mystery romance or anything else so there are things that occurred before this book that are of importance and things that are of importance that are still 'dangling' at the end of this book hence that 'slice of life' tag it's a look in on a character as they go about their life not a recap of their entire life6 Odd how basically everyone whose sexual preference is made known is a lesbian except for maybe two women in New Orleans7 I didn't particularly care about some of the subplots like the one involving Marisol or however Hector's daughter's name is spelled and the one involving Nicolette again however that is spelled; or for that matter the one involving Stacey um something or other Hector's mistress and even though that's a MF relationship there was one specific scene when Stacey thought to herself about a lost opportunity that involved another woman am I reading into that? Any other book I'd say yes Here where 999% of New Orleans is a lesbian? No probably not reading into that thought than I shouldRating 45January 5 2017

I'm a big fan of Vali and was happy to get my hands on this book I love her Cain series and this book didn't disappointI do want to make very clear if you have not read the other Cain books stop and read them before this book This is not a stand alone There is many characters with many side stories going on Even having read the first five books it took me a little while to remember who everyone was Thanks to Jade's review I uickly read the short Hell Fire that is in the book Girls With Guns It brings two new characters into the Cain universe This Cain book does repeat part of that novella but through Cains eyes You can read this book without reading Hell Fire but it will give you a better incite into Finley and Abigail the two new likeable characters I think Finley will be a good edition to the Cain books Lastly I would consider reading Calling the Dead after you finish this book Even though that book was written in 2008 the timeline fits in with this book It's a great look at the character of Sept Vali teases the big case she is working on in this book Calling the Dead is about that case and uite a good bookWhen it comes to the book I really enjoyed it It is a classic Cain book and I was happy to have a lot of loose ends finally tied up I really don't want to talk about the plot since it would be too easy to spoil it I will say Cain and Emma have to deal with a foe they didn't really see coming Plus we finally get to find out about the new Cain baby There is lots of bad guys like always and a web Cain must find her way out ofI would suggest to anyone who has not read any Cain books do yourself a favor and grab book one They are all well written and different than any lesfic books out there If you are a fan of the Cain series grab this without hesitation I hope Vail will keep writing this series because I will keep reading An ARC was given to me from Bold Strokes Books for a honest review

This is the 6th book in this series So I'm going to write about my opinion on the whole seriesI hated the first book Its been some time I read that book I think my main problem about that book was reading flashbacks and also the MCs not being together I read the 2nd book afterward but wasn't impressed with that either Recently I picked it up again and now finished all books in this series And surprisingly they are now my favouritesI have big crush on Cain Casey Gotta love a girl with a gun 😉 And other MC Emma was kind of pain in the a in first book but then she become very interesting in next books She went from If you kill him I'll leave you Cain To You are very romantic when you kill peopleCain That was an amazing character developmentSo there are lots of violence and read this books only if you can deal with them And I don't know if there is another book coming soon I really wanna read of Cain and Emma#1The Devil Inside 1⭐#2The Devil Unleashed 25⭐#3Deal with the Devil 5⭐#4The devil be damned 45⭐#5The devil's Orchard 35⭐#6The Devil's due 4⭐

After reading book 5 and all of the related books I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next with the Casey's I loved reading what's happening with some of my favorite characters in the series Although I didn't enjoy some of the side plots or side characters The book was enjoyable over all and kept my interest I'm looking forward to seeing what the Casey's are up to next Hopefully about when Cain first took over the family's businessI received this book from bold strokes books for an honest review

ARC provided by Netgalley and the Publisher for an honest reviewI am a huge fan of the Cain Casey series so when I saw that another book was being published I set a reminder on my calendar because I wanted to buy it as soon as it was publishedI started reading this book on the day I received it an I really thought that I would be finished by the end of the day by t that didn't happen I'm sad to say that this wasn't one of my favourite books in the series and the main reason for this is that I didn't feel like this was a progression in the series but of a side story in which Cain tied off some lose endsWhen we left of in the last book of the series things were heating up and the scene was set for a massive explosion of action but then I got this book and Cain was dealing with other people's issues and we heard nothing about the storm brewing regarding agent CurtisMy one other problem with the way this story was told is that the storyline became too complicated and that is the main reason that I took so long to read the book There are a few new characters that have been added to the Casey storyline and I loved them because I new their story from Girls with Guns but the competing narratives made for a rather arduous readThis book wasn't all bad in fact it wasn't bad at all it just didn't meet the exceptionally high standards that the other books set What I did enjoy was the addition of Emma and Cains new baby to the Casey clan and the ending left me waiting for especially now that a of the inconseuential people have been taken care ofThis book still offers Cain Casey's special dose of malice and action and after reading it you won't love it any less even if there is space for it to be loved 43 stars

I freaking loved this bookIncompetent leadership unreliable leaders organized crime violent betrayal but nothing can prevent Cain to expand her empire A vivid outstanding suspenseful and emotional story of the Casey family about the rise and fall of her competitors and everything that happened around her I really enjoyed the contrast between Cain's good and bad side I admire her undying love and loyalty for her family Her lifestyle is uestionable but her protectiveness is heartwarming She is my hero And Emma as always is a sweet beautiful woman with a heart of gold and perfect for Cain She is her rock As expected and hoped for it is action packed and it never does slow down I was constantly sitting on the edge of my seat This is the sixth masterpiece in this series and I hate it that I now have to wait for the next part

Another wonderful book in the series

This is the sixth book of the Devil Series following the ongoing mafioso saga of Cain and Emma’s family and business life in the now Katrina ravaged New Orleans The threat of Juan Luis and his mother are gone but rogue FBI agent Anthony Curtis has disappeared While trying to juggle friends allies and family a new baby on the way new threats and old family secrets Cain must be all things to all men wife mother leader schemer and ruthless killer loyal friend and honourable adversaryThis is an enthralling nail biting and ultra fast moving addition to the Devil series Casey now has so many irons in the fire it’s a case of smack one down and another pops up The Casey alliance with the Jatibon and Carlotti families is strong but old and new enemies appear at every turn Bizarrely some of her closest allies are cops and FBI agents who should be trying to take her down but with whom she has a bond built over time Detective Sept Savoie makes an appearance so check out “Calling The Dead” for her and Keegan's story lineMinor characters take centre stage while others take a backseat In this episode the FBI takes a lesser role while rogue cops and angry in laws take the lead in the non mafia life and old enemies regroup in the underworld Talking of minor previously minor characters add “Girls With Guns” to the series if you want Finley and Abigail's back storyDevil's Due is so fast paced you seriously have to concentrate but once again Ali Vali has produced a brilliant story arc sold character development incomparable bad ass women in traditionally male roles leading both the goodies baddies and cross breeds This episode closes off some of the loose ends but sets us up for even drama in the stories to comeThis is a stand alone but I would seriously recommend starting this series at the beginning The overarching story arc is so good the interrelationships so complex that while it might make a good read you will simply be missing too much backhistory and nuance of personal interplay to get the most from itRoll on the next in the series I mean really Why can't people write faster???

An honest review thanks to NetGalley Finally four years later we get to book six in the Casey saga Please do not pick up this book until you have read the first five Cain Casey books; there are so many different characters and their stories that you will get lost once you start reading this As always with Vali this did not disappoint we were thrown right back into the lives of the Casey Clan through love family and the responsibility of leading a crime family If you loved this first five this is the book for you I was disappointed we didn't hear about Lucy and her family; it ended right when her mother planted a bug Hopefully we will learn about that in the next book

I love me some Cain CaseyAll I have to say is if you haven't read this series you are missing out The characters in this book seem so real and others to many to name The storylines seem like they could go on for ever I love how there is always then one problem going on But leave it to Cain to solve all the problems and get home in time to change the babies diaper and put him to bed I definitely recommend this book
