Scarlet is on her way to California when her car breaks down She finds a temporary job at a salon in town while waiting for the town's one mechanic to find the parts to repair the car She meets James Brody town lawyer and two become closer Her real name's not Scarlet and she's determined to get to LA to her new job in the new year but things don't go as planned when she finds herself getting involved with James and the townCute but predicable Part of the Brody's Crossing seriesNot that it has anything to do with the book but the cover bothered the heck out of me The story takes place in Texas in December and yet there are plenty of wild flowers in the field behind the couple on the cover In the book the heroine notes that there are a few petunias or some common annual still alive in the park but they make the cover feel like it is the summer time And the only Christmas feel to the cover are the randomly placed bows on the small barn in the background The bows look like an afterthought and are completely disproportional to the barnAuction 3 for 125
