A Tale of Two Goblins Dulcie O’Neil is a fairy working in law enforcement for the netherworld When knight Vander approaches her with a case regarding comatose victims she agrees to help him imagining the most difficult part will be combatting her attraction to himBut what Dulcie isn’t betting on is the fact that the case becomes personal when she learns all the victims are somehow linked to herWhen her best friend falls victim to the Dreamstalker Dulcie must do everything in her power to ensure her friend’s survival including associating with criminals and accepting the fact that desperate times do definitely call for desperate measures

Dulcie has left the ANC but Knight has her working as a consultant on cases Their latest case involves some kind of supernatural that leaves hisher victims in a coma initially before coming back to kill them later while they sleep The MO is very similar to a Dreamstalker; however the only two Dreamstalkers in existence are currently locked up Once Dulcie determines that all the victims have a connection to her she realizes the killer is after her She resorts to an illegal drug to stay awake and out of the killer's clutches while she struggles to find out the killer's identityThese are fun uick reads I like Dulcie She shows her vulnerable side in this one as she struggles with an addiction to the drug that keeps her awake And I love the tension that is built between all the various guys that have the hots for her Of course Knight is my favorite but Bram and uillian have things going for them too I'll definitely be continuing the series at my leisure to see what develops with each of them

A Tale of Two Goblins was a delightful surprise and a great readThe spunky independent fairy is back and better then everThere is a Dreamstalker going after people that are connected to Dulcie causing them to drop into a coma and eventually die but when Dulcie’s best friend Sam falls victim the stakes are raised even higher Teaming up with the sexy Knight once again it’s a race against time while things start to heat up in other matters and not just because he is a Loki The first half of the novel moved a bit slow and I was worried that I’d have the same feelings for it as I did To Kill a Warlock But by the second half of the book what I found lacking in the first romance chemistry characterrelationship development was then made up for here and by the end I didn’t want it to stop And lawd the way it ended was killer just when we got to what I’ve been waiting for throughout these two books Evil evil authorPlenty of action mystery and suspense to keep readers entertained and the continuing sub plot of Dulcie’s writing a new paranormal novel adds a fun aspect to the story The plot itself was good and really kept me guessing as to whom the villain wasI still enjoyed the secondary characters then the main character Dulcie especially the love interest Knight but Dulcie’s growing on me and I’m eagerly anticipating the next installment in this series A fun uick read

uick Take Dulcie does it again This installment delivered on every promise made by its predecessor; it was above all fun engaging and charmingReviewI was so excited to pick up and read the second book in the Dulcie O'Neil series by HP Mallory having enjoyed the first one so much As with book one the cast is the big draw Technically there aren't that many figures to keep track of which is fine by me It means face time for the fab five Dulcie Knight Trey Sam and Dia ^^ Dulcie in particular is in fine form she's a magnetic character with different facets to her personality that provide plausible and engaging expression in scenes both light hearted and somberI get the sense that the author is deliberately keeping a steady pace in revealing her fictional world and in progressing the broader story arcs I like that I can see the series continuing to thrill with new elements and twists even several books down the road and geez I HOPE there will be a several books down the road to speak ofThis book deals with a creature that stalks and terrorizes people's dreams As such there are a few dream seuences some of which are meant to be ambiguously identified Is this someone's dream? and others which are very clearly nocturnal reveries In one the dreamer is even consciously observing her own dream The devices used for these seuences could've been confusing as flip but instead worked out wonderfully and intriguingly Honestly the third book cannot come soon enough soon enough is August 2011 by the waybut still so far off; I simply must know how the cast of characters develop and fare in their respective conundrums A Tale of Two Goblins than proved that the Dulcie O'Neil series will be one to look out for in the future Moreover it's put Ms Mallory on my auto buy list for sure

The Dulcie O’Neil series has uickly won me over I love the fun light hearted feel to the books Yes the characters face dark creatures and fight bad guys but there is plenty of humor and all around great entertainment The main characters are back in action from Dulcie Knight Bram even uillan I did miss Sam a bit though as she spent most of the book a victim of the Dreamstalker However Dulcie faced the villains head on and went to deep dark depths out of loyalty for her friend That fierce loyalty drew me to love Dulcie that much She is an imperfect heroine who happens to have fairy magic and human hang ups While A Tale of Two Goblins is an urban fantasy book there are hints of romance I really like how HP Mallory gives Dulcie’s character several options on the romance front There is Knight the handsome new boss uillan the disgraced former boss and Bram the handsome vampire and they are all attracted to Dulcie They give the story a spicy edge that manages to be light hearted at the same time There is plenty of room for possibility and I am looking forward to finding out what happens next After reading both of the Dulcie O’Neil books I will say that I am a huge fan Book 2 was even better than book 1 and I can’t wait to read Dulcie O’Neil books in the future to top it off the books are very affordable at these books are an awesome deal HP Mallory has a new fan I highly recommend this series to Urban Fantasy fans

Dulcie O'neil is the ultimate Mary Sue of characters This book has its moments it really does but I see much telling than showing and it gets tiresome Dulcie gets drooled over and either almost raped or forcefully made out with by literally every single hot dude in the story The reader is told many times throughout the story that Dulcie Is So Amazing but she makes rookie dangerous moves and it's not apparent by Dulcie's actions what exactly makes her The Best Cop Ever I really wanted to like this series but the combination of the super forced characters and the completely out of the blue villain has solidified my decision to not read the next novels in the series

Just when you think her books can't possibly get any betterHP Mallory proves you wrongA Tale of Two Goblins has an extra pinch of fairy dust that makes it that special than the first book There's action mystery and romance along with the side splitting humor that is HP Mallory's trademark If you're a lover of the paranormal and want a lighter and fun read without stepping away from the genre look no further and definitely check out this seriesRead my full review here

SPOILERS for To Kill A Warlock Dulcie O’Neil #1A Tale of Two Goblins gets us back in the action with the much loved fairy Dulcie O’Neil At the end of To Kill A Warlock she left ANS Association for Netherworld Creatures because of the outcome of the last case she was working on uill Shame on you She agreed to the role of consultant when ANS needs her Hopefully this will give her time to deal with the emotional backlash triggered by the events of book 1 It also means time to work on her novel Acting Chief of Headuarters super hot Loki Knight approaches Dulcie about a case involving a possible Dreamstalker who has rendered several victims unconscious and trapped between a state of life and death When Dulcie realizes she has a connection to almost all of the victims she becomes concerned it might be personal and she uickly agrees to help Over the course of the case Dulcie finds she has to make some tough choices to stay one step ahead of the Dreamstalker The sopho novel in this UF series is just as full of action and suspense as its predecessor It also has the snark and wit I’ve come to associate with the sassy fairy Dulcie Events do take a darker turn when Dulcie makes some hard choices in order to save the victims of the Dreamstalker It fit and gave the plot a nice amount of depth No fluff here She is still being pursued by some seriously hot guys and hasn’t dealt with her commitment issues who can blame her I was thrilled that we got to know the men in Dulcie’s life a little better including the fascinating Bram If you dig vampires you will fall madly in love with him no doubt Even after two books I still can’t decide who I think she should be with I can’t even pick a favorite They all have ualities that I need the romantic interest in books I read to possess What a lucky fairyNot only does this series contain great characters but the author also offers up a solid plot with multiple twists and turns This is a series that is going places If you are a fan of Urban Fantasy I recommend giving Dulcie O’Neil’s world a try

This is the second in Mallory's Dulcie O'Neil series with vampires werewolves goblins loki witches fairies elves populating the streets of Splendor CA along with the humans and a new threat causing people from Dulcie's past and present to fall into a coma for days before dyingThe chemistry between Dulcie and the three males who want her is off the charts Bram Knight Sam Trey are back helping Dulcie with this latest case uill even makes an appearanceBram is celebrating his 300th birthday as a vampire and is even gorgeous than even and enad with DulcieKnight still his uber sexy and delicious self is back to drag Dulcie into an ANC case and torment her with all his flirtationsuill still his paranormal romance book cover sensual self comes to Dulcie's rescue when she needs some not so legal help and when he thinks she needs assistance in a fightEnter Dia a sleep goblin and Chief of nearby Moon ANC precinct to lend her help with the case as wellOnce again even though the sexual tension is high there is talk than action in that area In my humble opinion Dulcie needs to give in and get her a little sumthin' sumthin' with at least one if not all of these three hunks she has panting after herOkay so this is not strictly a paranormal romance any since according to the authors who participated in the Is it Paranormal Romance or Urban Fantasy event in Sept 2011 on BittenByParanoramalRomancecom since it doesn't meet the reuirement of a couple getting together and staying together in a single book However it has lots of humor sexual chemistry romance in its way studly gorgeous males and who cares if Dulcie hasn't made up her mind yet and we need to read fun to find out? We get of the characters this wayCan't wait for the next book in the series

Originally published at enjoyed the first one so much I was disappointed by the second It was an okay read but not as good I kept putting off writing this review because I wasn’t exactly sure why I didn’t enjoy this one as much After letting the thoughts percolate for a couple of weeks I’ve come to realize it’s three different thingsThe first reason is the love interest or actually the lack of love interests In the first book there were three and some could even say four guys lusting after Dulcie But in book two it was mainly all Knight Not that that’s a bad thing but for me it just wasn’t as interesting as when she had a bunch of guys after herYou do have a bit with the vampire Brom at the beginning but then he disappears for pretty much the rest of the story You also have uin who was her boss in the previous book reappear But this time their relationship is completely different And as for the demon who runs the SM club he very briefly gets mentionedThe second problem is the story didn’t have as much action as the previous one Granted the bad guy was in a dream world and when one is sleeping not a lot goes on But even when Dulcie and Knight were going around town looking for clues it was not too excitingThe final reason is it felt too short It could be that I had purchased the six book set and on the bottom of my Kindle it said 23% when the book ended But that was because it was in regards the first two books and there are four to go The story ended well and there are a few threads dangling for the next book to start with but I was just expecting This book is only 185 pages so compared to the 300 500 page books I usually read it is shorterEven though this book wasn’t as good as the first I’m still looking forward to reading the rest of the series Maybe Knight and Dulcie will cool off a bit and she’ll end up hooking up with one of the other guys
